Havet Tonbridge is a family owned restaurant and our Turkish-Cypriot heritage makes us passionate about sharing good fresh food with others. Our ethos is ‘fresh food, daily’ which means we’re dedicated to sourcing the very best produce available so that our talented chefs can create mouth-wateringly flavoursome dishes. Our dishes are as big on flavour and freshness as they are on portion size… and we’re big on service, too. Come to our busy and buzzing restaurant and you’ll receive the same kind of warm welcome as you’d receive if you stepped into our own homes.

Everything on our menu is freshly made according to recipes passed down the generations and given a modern twist. Our dishes are prepared using only the freshest ingredients possible, on a daily basis – we never store unused food to serve the next day.
We’re up early to go to the markets so we can bring home only the very best cuts of meat and top-notch fresh produce, just as our families did for generations before us when they prepared home-cooked food. You can read more about our approach to dining here.

Our talented chefs create dishes that are abundant with all the amazing flavours of Turkish cooking. Combining the sun-soaked flavours of the Mediterranean with the aromatic and earthy spices of the Middle East, we have a menu that celebrates the best of our parents’ homeland cuisine.
Premium ingredients mean great tasting food – and our customers agree (read what they have to say here). And although we start afresh every day, making dips, sauces and every single dish from fresh ingredients, nothing goes to waste: anything that’s left over at the end of the evening is donated to those in need.

Our extensive menu is flexible – from our meze to main courses, you can tailor a meal to suit your tastes. We’ve adopted a ‘pick and mix’ approach, so diners can select their meat, fish or vegetables then add a salad of their choosing or a rice or bulgur wheat option. In fact, you could dine with us 365 days of the year and never get bored as we offer over 500 meal options/menu combinations.

Our kebabs are cooked over our traditional mangal (charcoal grill) and we also offer homemade sausages as well as chicken wings and lamb chops.
We make everything we possibly can in our kitchens. Nothing is bought in – not even our chilli sauce. It’s made using five fresh vegetables and piquant chillies to create a warming addition to your meze, kebabs and salads.
Our authentic Turkish meze is a great example of how our fresh food, daily ethos really singles us out. Nothing is bought in: all of our meze dishes are homemade with care. We start our preparations early in the day – and it’s really noticeable in the flavours and freshness. Here’s how:
- At 2am every day we travel to Spitalfields and Smithfield markets so we’re there early enough to get the pick of the produce and ensure that we are first in the queue for the prime cuts of meat at 3am.
- Preparation for our homemade hummus starts once evening service has finished. We soak chickpeas overnight and our chefs come in at 6am to cook them so we have fresh hummus for lunchtime.
- Our chefs are in before breakfast preparing our meat and fish dishes, ready for lunch service. They then repeat the process mid-afternoon, ready for our evening diners.
Our bar staff are dab hands with a shaker and can create all your favourite cocktails with flair. Prices start from £6.95.
